I was curious about the technical architecture that is behind Steemit; specifically how it compares to the federated network behind identi.ca.

If you're bored then there's the white paper. As I understand it our posts and comments go into the blockchain and get audited by the 'witnesses'. The Steemit site just renders that for us. It can also be done in apps like esteem. It's more like Bitcoin than identi.ca
