Each month the upvote pool splits, members who buy in the latest month get a higher percentage with older months slowly reducing in voting percentages. This rewards users who buy every month and also stops just one person buying a bucket load and sucking up the voting pool forever. This is why it is important to buy early in the month.
I also buy every month, this month June I also bought at the beginning of the month.
