RE: Post Promotion Thread

Selfish?

I think the majority of posters here do not read more than one or two posts...for the rest of their daily quota (so as to look caring and interested), they just set a few accounts on auto-vote, so they put in an appearance without having to go through the hassle of opening posts...and maybe having to make a few intelligent sounding comments :)

My reasons for avoiding those specific posts is that I am by nature a lone wolf. I do not like the idea of having to join and follow anyone or any community (it is what saved me from signing up at FB, when I applied I got a message saying I was approved and now I must choose who I follow (was given from 4 names to choose from). It put my back up and I ignored their emails from then onwards).

I see so many who out in the cold, on their own, would not get more than a handful of votes but by joining a community and playing according to their rules they get a healthy looking number of votes and reward for posts I would not even think of upvoting.

So as not to be influenced or lose sight of why I joined, on most of my posts and comments I either deny rewards or set a beneficiary to get the rewards - I only allow voting on specific posts to do with politics etc. My stories and poems do not allow votes.

By the way, this account will only start to be used from next month as the one I mostly use now will go into a permanent hibernation, and that style of posting also ensures no 'follower' continues following for more than a few months.
