Neither Steem, Steemit or Steemit INC can be trusted. Research the #SteemHostileTakeover , and come join everyone else on #Hive .

I despise all droids. Nothing but trouble.

Lord Vader himself! This droid could do with some tweaking, use the force :)

I like it, because most of the time that my posts get linked, I have not been asked prior (which is fine by me).
It lets me check out people who are posting about me and I've met some great folks and been exposed to some new things because of it.
Some of my recipes were "published" in steemit cookbooks that I was previously unaware of, so the linkback bot was the easiest way to find that out!

Yeah I'll admit it has come in handy a few times..
I see its now been updated to not post on peoples threads if they downvote it, so I feel way better about this :)

I'm not a huge fan of this sort or thing.
BUT, it is how I found your post this morning from @krystle 's post. So silver-lining?

Aha yeah I may have been a little harsh, but like @luminousvisions pointed above out we could just build this into the site rather then spamming up the blockchain .. Thankyou so much for your support :)

I don't really want to watch the same pointless bot comments posted over and over till the end of time.

+1

A few minutes after posting this and my other comment it seems to have stopped. Post count 876.
TIL - It was so visible on steemviz because it was the only commenter using a title , so the code assumed it was a post..

Scratch that, checked back and its at 1000 posts and climbing again. Fun times..

Most of the times its unnecessary that the bot posts. I think it should trigger only if people ask a relevant question that would need its link assistance.

I miss @wang though, hope he would wanna become active and help me and the community out with @projectnewbie.

Congrats on 200 followers! :)

Exactly, I think most bots should only turn up when specifically requested - I cant stand unsolicited spam.
At least @wang gave helpful links and fooled many newbies into thinking he was a person..

@projectnewbie is a great idea, upvoted, joined and made a logo :)

Thanks for the effort, since I was offering a 20 SD reward and didn't want to create it myself, I thought I would give the option to some artists here on Steemit who are good at drawing/painting. I wanted the image to have a human look/traces on it, but think I will just create something simple and catchy instead to use in the future.

But thanks for the effort nontheless and I will use it in the next days statistics as the image. Will send you a smaller reward as thanks. :)

Oh hey i didnt even know about the reward please keep it for any artists that respond or for something that benefits thr project, Im happy to tweak it as well if needed :)

Im just enjoying using gimp lately but im not really that creative so any guidance would go a long way lol

Its fine, don't worry about it, thanks for the effort! :)

Was thinking of something handmade would feel nice to welcome newcomers =)

yup. @wang got me and I felt like an idiot when I tried to engage it on my first post. LOL
I'll have to check out @projectnewbie too! Two months in, I don't really consider myself one anymore but I'm always seeking out new talent to follow :)

I believe it's helpful sometimes and could use a tweak. What if the people who don't want linkbacks showing up in their comments downvote it and the bot remembers the user and never comments on their posts?

Perfect, simple solution that would naturally happen without instructions even. Great suggestion andu, i hope @ontofractal sees this. Edited my comment on his thread to include it..

I've not encountered that bot. There is potential for bots to do some useful tasks here, but if we start seeing many comments per day from them it put people off.
