Hi Steemiens,

Today I am going to talk about Almora, a beautiful place in Uttrakhand,

Almora

Almora is located on a ridge at the southern edge of the Kumaon Hills of the Himalaya range, at a distance of 365 km from the national capital New Delhi,
and 415 km from the state capital Dehradun.

The landscape and temples of Almora attracts hundreds of tourists each year as it is one of the business hubs of Kumaon region.

Chitai Golu Devta Temple,Kasar Devi Temple and Jageshwar Temple are some of the famous temples of Almora. ...
I will brief you with the importance of these temples.

Chitai Golu Devta Temple

This temple is located inside thick forest of the chir pines. It is an important religious attraction of the region. Thousands of devotees offer their prayers and make wishes as their wishes are fulfilled.
They in turn offer bells after the fulfillment of their wishes. Thousands of bells can be seen hanging over the temple premises. Temple walls are covered with court stamp papers, which are petitions from devotees who have not got justice in the court.

Kasar Devi Temple

Kasar Devi is a village near Almora, Uttarakhand. It is known for the Kasar Devi temple, a Devi temple, dedicated to Kasar Devi, after whom the place is also named.
This temple has been found to be of special importance because the region around this temple has enormous geomagnetic field. This is because this temple comes under the Van Allen Belt. The causes behind the formation of this belt have been researched by NASA for the last two years. Two other famous places which have been found to have similar high magnetic field (Van Allen Belt) are Machu Picchu in Peru and Stone Henge in England.

Jageshwar Temple

Jageshwar is a Hindu pilgrimage town in Almora District, dedicated to Lord Shiva, located 36 km northeast of Almora and around 101 Kms away from Nainital in Kumaon Region of Uttarakhand.

The temple city of Jageshwar comprises a cluster of 124 large and small stone temples, dating 9th to 13th century AD.The townfolk believe that Jageshwar is the place of Nagesh among the forest of Deodar, 8th among the Dwadasa Jyotirlingas: the twelve resplendent lingas of Lord Shiva established by Lord Vishnu.

This is the Joytirlinga temple, the temple has two dwarapalas in the form of the armed Nandi and Skandi. This is a west facing temple of Lord Shiva. Here, Shiva is worshipped in the form of Nagesh/Jageshwar. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the Shivlinga is divided into two parts. The larger one depicts Shiva and smaller one his consort Parvati. An Akhand Jyoti burns in the temple.
