I'll be engaged in a live Google Hangout debate in the next 24 hours with a rather prominent bitcoin proponent (or maximalist, if you'd prefer). I've done my homework and am well-prepared.
Would the Steemit community like to contribute to my discovery/preparation portion? If you have any anecdotes or interesting statistics that you would like brought up, please leave them in the comments.
At the end of the debate, it will likely boil down to arguing why its not a ponzi scheme, since that appears to be the only thing repeated often enough to generate autonomic responses.... but whatever. I'm rolling into this with some sharp, objective knives. I'll be sharing it on Steemit as soon as its over!
Good luck. I don't think you will ever get them to see anything other than BTC as being legitimate or not some kind of scam. Anyway please post a youtube link when it is over - would still be interesting to watch.

I recomend researching on the way the debate would be handle, on that debate the Steem supporter was a bit lost and that made him look a bit unprepared even if the knowledge was there.

Great initiative. Just remember that your audience is not the guy himself; from the sound of it, he may not be convinced. Treat him with respect and professionalism. Never forget that your target audience is the people tuning in!
I'm not a fan of Tone Vays. We've had a few interactions about the BTC/DASH dynamic. I can only imagine the things he would say about STEEM. He doesn't do a good job of fact checking, though...
pretends to be an expert about things he knows nothing about, brags about his former investment banker six-figure job... he gives me the creeps.
