Lessons learnt on the Steem blockchain
So I've been around a while on the Steem blockchain and I'm kind of reminiscing on my journey- the suprises, the disappointments, the hope, aspirations.....
I got to know about Steemit through a facebook ad by Jerry Banfield, I clicked on the link and voila I was on Steemit, I was on the trending page and seeing how much folks were earning I had high hopes of joining this new website and making some cool cash, my adrenaline was shooting through the roof, so I got down to write and was expecting $100 on my post but got the shocker when I earned $0.01 ! What the fu...k!! Its not as easy as I thought, I thought to myself is it some kind of clique upvoting each other nevertheless I had this attitude of not giving up.
I was determined to learn and boy I did learn and I am still learning because there is more to steeming than just posting. Firstly I learnt Steemit is one of several front end to the Steem blockchain, there are other front end like busy.org, esteemapp, chainbb.com.... This gave me assurance that I can have access to my account if one of these front end goes down temporarily.
However the biggest lesson I learnt is you need a community to excel or succeed on Steemit albeit loyal followers. If other Steemians do not upvote you then there is nothing you can do about it except to engage the community more and what better way to engage the community than through constructive commenting and joining various communities and sub-communities on discord, telegram,Whatsapp ...... If you engage the community enough and make friends you'll get loyal friends that upvote you, this is one aspect I feel I am lacking and really working on myself to have a turn around.
I have written all kinds of articles ranging from motivational, inspirational, poems and at a point I was actively involved in contributing on the utopian platform. However the 'Pick of the day' bible quotes have been a constant all along, I still feel I am finding my feet on the blockchain as earnings are trickling in, yes trickling I wished I am earning more well that is the wish of every plankton on the Steem ecosystem.
Nevertheless its been an enjoyable ride so far with highs and lows and I wouldn't trade it for another. I have one advice for all planktons 'do not give up, stay in there with the heart of a whale and you will become one.

You know at a point I wanted to give till I remembered the scripture in my heart which states >"And David encouraged himself in the Lord" I had no choice than to fudge ahead no matter what.

Yes we could all do with some amount of motivation. 'Winners never quit' we shall all get there by His grace.
