First things first. Do you think that increasing followers is the trick? Posting random things everyday to look like a consistent blogger is the trick? You might be wrong.

Steemit, although based on the blockchain and the fundamental principle of rewarding a curator with some portion of the total reward, is a blogging site but it does not let every other user bloat up overnight and swim in SBD. It is in the end a platform which only encourages meaningful content and not just one of those "Oh let me upload 5 posts a day" environments.

Nobody said that if you post every hour, the chances of you making money are the same as if you were posting once a day. It could definitely happen, but make sure the posts are engaging, make sense and in some situations not completely ripped off of some other place on the internet. I tried doing that but it did not get me a penny.

So when do whales read your posts?
The answer is simple. Do not act as another media microwebsite and start copy pasting happenings or events. Whales are looking to read nice experiences and nice interpretations of what is happening around. It can be anything and can be from any era, you just have to make it a good reading experience for someone who already gets more attention for his/her posts than celebrity tweets get.

It does not have to be difficult, it has to be interesting.

STEEM ON!

Your advice is on point. Whales really love facts. So keep your writings simple and comprehensive with pictures or gifs to make it more engaging. Dont over do it by filling your post with too many pictures. Keep it simple and comprehensive. And consistency is the key.

In the end a whale on STEEMIT might not be a whale in real life and a whale outside of STEEMIT might be nobody here. Anonymity is the beauty. But some handholding is for sure required, that is the nature of everything.

It's half truth by my opinion. First thing in every Steemian head is profit, second thing could be to read something unique, new and interesting.

Yes, this is from the perspective of a reader, more so a whale. We, as writers need to give them quality entertainment/knowledge first.

how do you get followers on facebook or instagram? u have to be interesting OR post useful or interesting photos! Just think about the world and all of the crazy places in it! just take google maps and click on a random place! go on wikipedia!

Absolutely. Makes sense.

Everyone should find their way...

That is very true, however there still lie a few kickstarters for every kind of journey. Attention from whales being on of them on platform such as this.

Well said. I'm new to Steemit but one thing is abundantly clear. New guys seem to think followers and rewards will magically just happen. That if they get enough follow backs that means more $. If it were that easy the bots would generate millions. Maybe that's it! The only thing that can't be replaced by an app or machine is user generated original quality content.

I got from a Rep of 25 to 35 in one day. From 35 to 36, about 1 week. It all depends on how well you interact with your audience and STEEMIT gives us that platform which otherwise very few would get.
