Steem is only used because people can make money off of it, not because it is a good social platform. It's poorly organized and doesn't allow cross user interaction. Steemit is also lacking integrated videos, a missed opportunity considering youtube is performing so poorly. Steemit also lacks any form of cross user messaging or groups that other popular websites have

Steem basically feels like a example website for the steem blockchain and lacks redeeming features
