I agree with you here. I am pretty new here too and sometimes it can appear that all that matters are paid upvotes. If this is the feeling that other newcomers get, they will very likely not stick around.
Indeed that's why i say there needs to be changing on some points. Also the voting system of the bots are not fair. They promis you a profit around %1 to %10 but they give you an upvote with %20 or more loose. I don't know if there a responsible community for steembottracker but somebody needs to prevent this fake profit promisses. Everything is going about making money here so there is no need to make a blog site or social media site like others. Thanks for reading and commenting ;)
