Alternative to steemit's centralised voting problem - minnows matter

in #steemit6 years ago

It seems the steemit community is at least polarized about the algorithm that underpins the voting system. The concept of power and voice being centralised to the "haves" is the very system cryptocurrencies are trying to disrupt.

Steemit masks this by providing tiny incentives for interacting with content on the premise of community engagement but in reality these amounts are so negligible they do nothing to facilitate a "trickle-down" economic system.

The alternative? Primas

With an economic system that is designed to be more decentralized and level, Primas also introduces group functions. Primas' group feature allows for self-governance.

Through our incentive system, this self-governance is hard wired and rewards users acting in a way the community deems valuable. For example, if a group values friendliness and participation, those members that are rude or inactive are kicked.

While this is admittedly not the perfect system, it is a system that is continuously being tweaked and definitive right step towards self-governance.
