God is always attentive to every word, every action, and every thought of each of his children. God responds to the cry of his children.

Your foot will not slip,
Nor will he who watches over you slumber.
4 Behold, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will preserve you from all evil;
He will preserve your life.
8 The Lord will watch over your going out and your coming in
from this time forth, even forevermore.

Psalm 121:3-8

In a previous post, we saw and contemplated that God acts as our protector. Here we continue with David's song in this psalm, which describes God as our protective guardian.
When David says that He who watches over us will not sleep, he is giving us security like no one else can, since each person has their fears. But fortunately, God, our protective guardian, never sleeps or tires. That is why we have the absolute certainty that He is always alert and attentive to our cries, even if our feelings do not speak otherwise. That is why we serve God rationally, understanding who He is.
David also says that Jehovah will guard our souls. Let's take the example of when parents must separate from their children for some reason. Parents trust in a person to care for and protect our children, whether it be a family, an institution, or a church. Now imagine how committed and capable God is to guard and care for our children, and above all, our lives. He guards and protects us both physically and spiritually, allowing only that which is for our good. God's Holy Spirit warns us of any misstep we might take and guides us on the right path so we go in the right direction.
When David says that Jehovah will guard our coming and going forever, he is declaring God's sovereignty as he tells us that God is with us always, no matter the time or circumstance, God accompanies us and directs us even when situations seem to be the most insignificant waves worst of our life.
There is no place we can flee to or go beyond the reach of God our father, he is our guardian and has total sovereignty over everything that exists, his love covers us and keeps us at all times and places, if God keeps us and cares for us, who else can do it or do it better than him?
