steemit frustrations, or are they? what is real and what is not?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

I feel the frustration and hear it daily on here and discord.

Do you facebook? do you twitter? did you myspace? do you do other social media? if the answer to any of those is yes, then congratulations, you spent hours writing for FREE. Not only writing, you maybe gave away the copyright to hundreds of photos of your own family, you let them track you on gps, and you let them sell YOU for profit.

You maybe told them when you were in a bar, taking a holiday, selfies with friends, locations abroad, you gave it all for FREE. So why should anyone expect anything from steemit? for a start do you even know how to spend crypto currency? or do you just want a bigger upvote power? well here is the good news, it all comes around eventually anyway, just keep writing.

There is no point in looking to trending, most of it if not all is paid for via bidbots, there is also little point in getting down because you only made 0.01 cent, at least you made 1 cent more than on ANY other social media site going right now.

I wrote about these 2 days ago here they will give you more viewers, though less interaction with the community, and this is where I want to take this (lecture) conversation. You will get no action or reaction sitting in a glass house, screaming everything is unfair, as nobody on here owes you or me a damn thing, we have to earn it, the same way we have to earn respect, nothing is a given in this life, I always say everyone starts off with my 100% full respect, and they can choose to work it down to 0 if they want, though I am not everyone else, and the world seems to work opposite to me.
The best way to steemit is get involved, some times I do not have enough time to chat on steemit, as I run my discord channels also, though without the chat on here, how do you get to know anyone? and without following content creators you like, how do you gain inspiration? stick to what you know & like and follow your gut instinct on people and you will never go far wrong. Get social, and get into the circle of people you want to talk with, write like - you know the people that keep you coming back for more.

I guess you know who I am writing this about, when you stumble on this post, and I write this post with good intention, just be you my friend, and let the good light shine out of you, stop letting the preconceived notions of wealth and fame get you down, just get down and dirty, write from the hip, say what you want and just let rip.

I bet you this post makes less than 20 cents, do I care? NOPE, so head up and get on with it or else. :-)

Deliberator = Definition of deliberator
plural -s
: one that deliberates

The key is persistence. It is easier to make more than $1 on a post than it was when I started in July of 2016. Yet back then some people were getting insane payouts. Now the vote curve is linear so it spreads out more, but there are also more people.

Back then the key was persistence. That is still true today. Stick with it, write what interests you and that you have a passion for and keep in mind what you said. On Facebook and other social media platforms most people write on you get nothing. So even making $0.01 is better than that.

You have caught the attention of the #informationwar tag following people, and people from that discord channel so I suspect you'll do much better especially if you use that tag as one of your tags anytime you happen to be sharing news. Part of the informationwar is fighting fake news, and just getting the news first hand. So, please feel free to use that tag.

You can also use the #postpromotion section on that discord channel to post links to your informationwar posts and even more of us will see them.

There is a chance that if you keep it up as you seem capable of doing that I'll occasionally put your works in the steemit section of the @newsagg account that is also mine in the headlines post. I only do 8-9 posts per headlines post in that section for the moment, but I do tend to check informationwar, familyprotection, and a few other tags to make sure I don't miss important things.

Keep up the good work. It will pay off.

I seems that hanging around in discord is a way to gain exposure to like minded people.

The trouble is for me, is that I'm not bothered about live chat (I see it all as little banal, and nonproductive, tbh).

I want to write and discuss, not 'chat'.

Yes, which is why I avoided the discord for a long time. I am and have often been invited to chat. It always impacts my productivity in negative ways.

I can put up with that for awhile while I see if I can reprogram my mind to fix that.

I'm not on chat either...of any flavor.

I pop into it for a couple hours a day and that's about it.

That is the single best comment I have ever received on here, concise and straight to the point, thank you for the wise words that seem to almost mirror my post, I will certainly keep to it - as I enjoy steemit now, since all my early frustrations have vanished, though as they are still very fresh memories I understand the newer peoples frustrations, hence wanting to motivate them. Thanks also for the discord advice, I have added you to following and looking forward to speaking with you more in the future.

😉thats true..🌺❤️☮️

Thank you, nice to see you again, long time no see.

The best way to steemit is get involved...

Truer words have never been spoken.
HA! my vote made it $0.21!

Cheers my friend, always good to see you stop by.

You're 100% right and persistence on Steemit will pay off. Good networking and interacting pays off. I value my connections and learn massive amounts here. Thank you for the reminder.

Most welcome, and wise words my friend.

Ha ha you lost your bet! At the time of writing this, you made 55 cents :-)

And so I did, just shows what I know eh lol.

just get down and dirty, write from the hip, say what you want and just let rip.

Breaking glass echo chamber seems to be natural talent I never knew I had!
😂😂

Good post sir, although my time on discord is minimal.
I want to write not chat - that being my problem...

I was trying to rhyme that part, not sure it worked though? you can still find discord of service for post promotions, most people on discord do like at least the odd "hello" when people use that though.

nope I never picked up on it - I do now you pointed it out, though ! lol

It is hard for me to understand some people that do complain about not earning anything other than a couple of pennies. Most of the time when I see those post, then look at there comment stream, not much at all, no comments on other peoples post, and very few if any votes on their audience members comments. So of course I move on.

On the post with a lot of votes, and no comments I move on because the only people the author could get interested in their post was vote bots.

On a post with only a few votes, and maybe 5 comments, I read, if I like I vote, if the comments to the author were good, and he voted for one or two, then I will help his/her vote by voting the comments also.

Bots are not needed, whiners are not needed, steemit needs the people that have something to say, or share, or who want to be social, or just want to be audience members. Through our interactions we make a difference in many lives, least of which is our own life.

How do we get rid of the bots my friend? that I would love to know, I am "clean" now and want nothing to do with them, except when I want to upvote someone else with more than my vote value.

Steemit is a tricky place. I'm starting to wonder if the key to earning here is to stop trying to earn rewards.

That doesn't mean stop posting or commenting or curating. It just means to stop treating it like a job or a chore or some other task we have to complete.

Instead, we should look at it as something we get to do, which we can fashion into things we like to do, that we're either knowledgeable in or passionate about, and pursue those things.

Then go and comment on other people's posts that we're interested in and leave them a portion of the rewards pool that we control.

I have found that I am much happier when I'm out and about on Steemit, going through my feed or farther afield and reading what others have to say and replying to it than I am sitting on my own blog feed refreshing the numbers to see if they've gone up in the last five seconds or waiting for GINAbot to ping with another upvote, or any other of a number of ways to track what others are doing for me.

Instead, in turning it outward, I'm now becoming more and more concerned with what I can do on with other people's posts and comments. It's meant a world of difference.

And the really interesting thing is, it's really the same advice I was given when I got here. Post regularly. Comment more. Curate as much as you can.

It's pretty much as simple as that. :)

Very well spoken, I was and maybe will now going to do a part 2 for this, on how my whole experience has been, what has worked, what has not, thanks for stopping by my friend.

Not only writing, you maybe gave away the copyright to hundreds of photos of your own family, you let them track you on gps, and you let them sell YOU for profit.

this part is, to me, the biggest point I wish more people would see - or be upset by? maybe? some people seem to not care - don't know if that's because they honestly don't care that these sites are profiting b selling their lives bundled up in a marketing deal or if they don't understand what is happening at all..
it's concerning nonetheless. I hope more people will come to Steemit and break away from that BS .. as long as steemit doesn't start doing that somehow lol

Indeed it is alarming, and when I try to explain it to people, I see the eyes glaze over into a fine mist, then I mention food, beer or football and BOOM, they are back in the room.

haha I know that struggle very well :) but hey we just keep on shaking it up and who knows maybe more people will get off the fluoride and start seeing things clearly lol

Lol at the fluoride part, you may be onto something there.

oh definitely - check out fluoxetine (the "drug" name) "Fluoride is present as a '4-fluorophenyl' compound, part of the 'active' ingredient in Prozac." hmmm why would they want to disrupt/inhibit/control our serotonin production ? I have only a minimal education in neurology and brain pathology but it gets pretty obvious even to a student like myself.. but check it out let me know if you feel the same?
