Starting 2019 With A Bang: New 30 Days Writing Challenge!
2019 is just around the corner. I know there is more than one week left, but if you compare 10 (days) with 355 (days), it's obvious we're running out of 2018 steam. So, continuing a tradition I'm trying to follow at the beginning if every year, I decided to "prep it" right from the beginning. And the best way to put it on the right track is to start it with a 30 days challenge. In the Steemit universe, this equals to a 30 days writing challenge.
Now, if you follow me here you know that I did quite a few 30 days writing challenges in the 2+ years since I'm active on the platform. Some of them were having a specific topic, while other were just random writing, with the only goal of posting every day.
The challenge that I'm proposing you now is tied to a specific topic. Namely, best practices. Let's get into details.
Every time you try to do something, being it an omelette, or just the next tech unicorn, you know you have to follow some time-proven, battle-tested practices. For instance, if you do an omelette, you may try to heat the pan before putting the eggs in it. It just makes everything easier, right? Also, if you want to go on holidays, you know it would be so much better if you would buy your plane tickets before reaching the airport, with your bags packed.
So, what I'm talking about is a set of things that you know you have to do in order to get a better result, no matter your activity field. And here is where it gets interesting: the activity field will not be fixed, or limited. You can write about whatever you want. If you want to write about parenting, then write about parenting. If you want to write about travel, then write about travel. The only thing to keep in mind is that the post should describe some best practices, or things you have to do if you want to get a better result at whatever you want to achieve. You can even mix activity fields during the challenge (and I suggest you do so, otherwise you may run out of stuff to write pretty soon) so feel free to juggle as you see fit.
A couple of other rules: the articles should be at least 300 words, and it must start with the tag #challenge30days.
Introducing the @challenge30days Account
After doing so many 30 days challenges I decided it's time to make an account for them. So, after I got enough RC to actually be able to create accounts, I made the @challenge30days one, which is specifically designed for this type of activities. I delegated 2000SP to it already, and, for this challenge, I will use it to upvote at least 5 posts per day, at full power.
If you like the idea and think it will improve Steemit conversations and overall adoption of the platform, feel free to delegate SP too, any amount is appreciated. You can obviously undelegate it after the challenge is done, if you don't agree with the topic / theme of the next one.
Because, yes, I'm planning to have more than just one 30 days challenge next year. The first one will be about best practices, but I may do some related to fitness (30 days of pushups, for instance), good habits (30 days of positive comments), fiction (who's up for some short novels?) or even cooking (posting what you cook for 30 days should be really fun).
But until I reach that kind of challenges, I will warm up with a 30 days one related to best practices.
During the next few days I will write a few more reminders, but consider yourself invited.
