RE: THIS is what's terribly wrong with Steemit

in #steemit9 years ago

I generally avoid posts like this one, but I decided to give it a chance. And found that the title is extremely ironic. I suppose you're saying that the low rewards you've received is what is wrong with steemit, but it could also be interpreted as content that is mostly just citing another's work with a video is what is wrong with steemit, or someone pointing the finger in blame of others for their lack of quality is what is wrong with steemit.
As @nonameslefttouse and @whatsup pointed out, there are many people who have worked to earn what they have here, and it is a bit insulting to suggest that anyone who has done well, has done so because they've "kissed ass".
One key element that some users tend to miss is the social aspect. If you are only receiving a handful of votes after being on the platform for months, then not only should you take a look at the quality of your work, but also the time you've spent encouraging and supporting others (or the lack thereof)
I really prefer to be positive when commenting, which is one of the reasons I don't generally open posts like this. Perhaps if you had developed some connections you might have asked what you could do to improve and attract more people to your posts and blog in general. Instead you decide to power down and then make a post taking a shot at steemit on your way out. And it is that last which compelled me to speak, I don't want new users to be disheartened by what you are saying here.
