📢 Steem Registration Service, Faucet, Has Finished Refactor
The refactoring work of Faucet started in July 2024.
The purpose of the refactoring is that a large number of Steem projects have not updated their underlying dependencies for more than five years.
This has led to potential security issues and the inability to introduce new technical features.
Therefore, we chose a relatively small project, Faucet, as the target for experimentation to accumulate experience for the subsequent refactoring of Condenser and Wallet.
AI wasn't powerful enough at that time. However, the greatest contribution of AI to the refactoring was that the development paths of many dependent libraries could be summarized, and upgrade suggestions could be given or other more excellent dependent libraries could be recommended for replacement.
Even with the support of AI, the refactoring work still lasted for three months. Eventually, due to the outdated version of the Steem JS SDK, the refactored Faucet couldn't be used. As a result, the refactoring of Faucet entered a waiting state.
Since November 2025, I started to introduce AI for Viber coding.
This has significantly accelerated the refactoring progress of all projects.
This is especially evident in the Steem JS SDK and Steem Go SDK, which have now been mostly completed in terms of refactoring.
Now, the refactored Faucet has been officially launched.
