Steem Voter is pretty good. Automatically votes up posts by users who's posts you like and you can set the percentage power it does it by. You earn steem power consistently every day, not much but it's steady and soon adds up.
I would not say posts that you like but those who posts have consistently been rewarded with high payouts so you can hopefully get a bigger share. But having said they you will be sharing with a lot of people who also voted.

So It's possible for small accounts to earn Curation awards, you just earn very little

As far as I understand it Everyone voting/resteeming a successful post gets something, curation etc?
I thought that resteeming does not count towards to curation.
I think you are right. I check out steem stats and on posts I've upvoted and resteemed it's consistently the same amount of SP returned.
