We need an Invite a Friend Button on Steemit! Together with its Infrastructure. This will accelerate the growth of the STEEM community and Mass Adoption for Cryptocurrency, converting Steemit the driver of it!

Hi Stemians,

I came up with this idea of how to bring more people to STEEMIT faster. This will eventually bring strong investors too. After reading @ackza for so many times, and the actions he is doing, he motivated me even more to think about ways to make the steemit community grow.

@inertia and @fyrtsikken whom are the developers of @booster (the voter bot), thanks to them, we can use it to make our posts go to the trending page when needed, on cases we need our word to be heard, when we have special ideas to help the community grow, or contribute for steem or steemit, or the community itself.

IDEA About the Invitation Button for STEEMIT

Why don't we create a button to invite people we know. And this button may be grey (unable to use), when it user surpasses his own limits. And it may be blue or green when the user can make the invite.
To ensure trust that new users invited/added are people that will contribute to the steemit community, we can start buy adding requirements and limits to the inviter. I am sure @fyrtsikken and @inertia , and @lukestokes may have thought of this or something similar.

With what @ackza mentioned on one of his posts about @adept , he may have also thought about this idea or something similar. He is now developing a steem adptation that will work as something similar to reddit but with upvotes like steemit, I think he can tell us if this idea of the button to invite steemit users is viable or may work.

Going back to the idea of the button, for instance, each steemit user may have a possibility to invite 1 person when:

  1. The inviter has at least 500 steem already powered up (for instance if the user has 2,000 steem power, he can invite 4 people). The algorithm should calculate and know in the future, when the user gets up to 2,500, he may be able to invite another person. [This is just a random number, I will leave the whales, dolphins, witnesses, and devs to give their ideas/suggestions on this]

  2. Also, the algorithm can have restrictions that the user needs to have at least 45, or 60, or some reputation to be able to invite. We have some dev experts that have the experience and can tell as other restrictions to be applied.

  3. There should be other ways the algorithm should block or let users invite less or more people, and then a possibility to track the users brought by each stemian, and see if they become really good users, providing quality to the platform, and this would extend the power of the inviter to invite more people, or would be reduced to zero, if the invitations are not good. For instance in addition to the limits above, each stemian that qualifies to make an invitation, could start by having the possibility to invite 1 person. Once the new person invited starts on steemit, and perhaps when the new person reaches 40 or 50 of reputation, then it is time for the user that invited, to be able to invite another one. I am just thinking how to make the whole thing be done with quality and make the platform grow. Always new things bring issues that need to be solved, and this is why I am thinking about it.
The same happens in viceversa, if the person we invite does not grow to 40 or 50 or whatever reputation, and in the contrary, starts spaming, or does wrong things, ok, this person will be downgraded on its reputation by steamcleaners, and also the person who invited can get some penalty. I think this may help everyone think more which persons to invite. And this may help bring more quality and be for the growth of the steemit community.

The other day @cryptographic came with some ideas about the logo of steemit, and this also brought more motivation to me to come up with this idea of the button infraestructure. If we, the small ones, can provide quality ideas that are heard of by the whales, dolphins, @ned and @dan , we will definitely help on the improvement and growth of the community. Here is his post: https://steemit.com/logo/@cryptographic/vote-on-the-new-steemit-logo

The main idea of this button/infraestructure is that we the steemians that already understand the potential of the platform can promote it easily. @jerrybanfield is the witness that is continuosly doing marketing efforts in google, youtube, facebook, to get more users each day. Perhaps he can also help us extend the word on this one if he thinks it is interesting. Thanks for all the efforts you have been doing in marketing Jerry. At the end all your efforts will pay everyone on the steem community.

We already know that the system and blockchain technology is working really good, it is helping many people change their lifes for good, it is helping people of different interests to learn together faster about different topics, communication is excellent between people in steem, and more over we know that steem and steemit reward people that make quality content and that find quality information with money.
By the way here is a post I made a few weeks ago about how steemit is changing lifes of people with 3 specific persons: https://steemit.com/steemit/@gold84/life-changing-stories-thanks-to-steemit-part-1

Again, going back to the Button Infraestructure idea, to make inviting people much easier, to show them the value of steem and steemit fast, and more directly into their email, and sent by a person they really know. Then the work of the inviter is be his mentor and guidance, make the user gain trust, and understand things quicker than we did.

@teamsteem is someone who can spread the word about this and I am sure he knows the devs that can give an opinion on this, or at least let as know his thoughts about his idea, if he really thinks this is a good way to make the steemit community grow in the amount of users in a smooth way, and if this will bring more smart people faster.

@fyrstikken is also very involved in helping Golos improve and follow some of the best updates and practices of STEEMIT. Here is his latest post just a few hours ago. https://steemit.com/blockchain-development/@fyrstikken/blockchain-development-stagnation-in-golos

This may help steem and steemit grow exponentially. We are around 250,000 or 300,000 active users (correct me if I am wrong with the number please). Around 30% may apply to start inviting? The others will achieve the goal sooner or later. So, lets stick with 100,000 active users that invite 1 person each, we can grow really fast.

I thought on this to make the invitation process faster and easier, something like this:

1- Sending the invitation email
2- User clicks on the sign up button
3- Enters user details, and then receives directly the email with the Master Password.

[No need to wait for further approval. Because all this would have been done automatically by the inviter that already qualifies to make this invitation. I don't even know if this is possible, or the reason why it would not, but I leave the words to the devs that can tell us all this, because for sure they have been through this several times, and are currently going through this in other issues. Steem Developers please help us understand what is behind doing this]

Inviter Process - Rough Explanation - Steemit Invite Button 2.png

Together with the button, when the user clicks on it, it should be able to enter the email address of the other user of the invitation. The email received by the person we are inviting, should contain the keypoints about steemit, perhaps a video or 2, explaining in a few minutes what is steemit, and that they are only within a few clicks of getting into it. Also, how to use steemit, and how to start earning. A small video of the 3 main ways to earn: poting, commenting, upvoting (curation).

Inviter Process - Rough Explanation - Steemit Invite Button 3.png

The idea to further motivate each of this new users we are inviting would be like this. With this available/limited amount of persons each steemian can invite (after we automaticaly reach the already setup algorithm requirements), after the invitation is sent to one of them, it would be good if they can receive $2 of free steem, or $3 of free steem, and we can make a good post, or choose one of the great existing posts on the platform, to show them how this steem currency has real value, and how they can convert this $2 steem into litecoin, and then into their FIAT currency (This thought is focused on people who still are in the old FIAT currencies, and have not entered into cryptocurrency yet).

In this way we close the entire cicle, and they can undertstand how the money they make can be easily converted into their currency, to start using it as normal currency to pay for things in groceries or anywere they want to.

Something I realized is that many people see steemit interesting, but when they get into the part about STEEM, they don't get how to use it, or even what is it. I am talking about people that do not know much or almost nothing about cryptocurrency (the crypto revolution). And they can be brought to this world with STEEMIT and STEEM. If this motivation of providing this free steem, is not possible, please let us know in the comments or better suggestions are very welcomed.
I am just trying to brainstorm possibilities without blocks, so that later, devs and experts can tell us whats possible, or not, or how we can achieve this.

The button can be placed somewere at the top, were the post section is, perhaps after the search area, or at the right side, of the settings area, or somewere that is the best fit.

Here are some people that can really help spread the word about this idea, if they feel its interesting.

@lukestokes is very involed on the steemit community and sharing his knowledge about different opportunities on crypto and his journey with SmartCash for example. He has recently by end of October 2017, been involved in public discussions with Steemit, inc about the some of the frustration the community has been feeling lately with the site performance of Steemit.com. https://steemit.com/witness-category/@lukestokes/witness-update-lukestokesmhth-october-26th-2017
Algo importante de @lukestokes es que tambien sabe español, entonces puede comunicar sus avances como witness en ese idioma tambien, asi como expandir la voz a los hispanos en steemit.

Perhaps @onealfa can help us spread the word. He recently got 2,000 followers, which is a great achievement. He is very commited here on steemit and adding value to help it grow. He likes to resteem quality posts, and by doing that he is adding value to the entire steemit ecosystem. I would recommend you to visit and follow him.

@libertyteeth is another steemian that can help spread this idea out, if you think it is interesting. The more comments we get from people on steemit, the more ideas or things we can get. And all comments can even modify this initial "button infraestructure" idea, and we can come up with even a better one.

Finaly by bringing more smart persons to steemit we can help achieve the idea on @adamkokesh book called FREEDOM. I really liked what @libertyteeth pointed our about the special case of a doctor. Here is what liberty pointed out from @adamkokesh book. As an example, if a doctor doesn't go through the expensive rigorous process of obtaining a license, then the government will use force to stop them from helping people. This is criminal (the government's behavior, that is), because "helping people" is a right we all have, and not something that can be licensed. And then he explains how decentralized methods can help on getting the right doctors to be able to work without the need of a license. Here is the post were @libertyteeth refers to the book: https://steemit.com/liberty/@libertyteeth/big-takeaway-from-adam-kokesh-s-book-freedom-which-i-just-finished-shame-works-better-than-violence

SPECIAL Thanks to this people on steemit:

Thanks @tytran for all your insights about crypto and your investments and also your experience about stocks on the internet bubble!

What are your thoughts steemians? If you think this idea of the Invitation Button Infraestructure is interesting, lets add on this, and make our word be heard. STEEMIT, is one united platform of people that are heard.

Steemit inc. need to solve the sign up proces and lift steem to $3. That's all. We don't need any button.

@oldtimer I agree with you. The reason for the addition of the button is to make it easier for each steemit user to invite people to the platform. You click on the button, just enter their email address, and they receive a type of elevator pitch on the email, and the email mentions you invited this friend. It makes it faster than calling the person or speaking with the person about it. Your thoughts?

Also, the idea to limit the amount of invites is because we need to bring people that want to be really involved on it first, so we can make it grow. And also, if we are giving certain steem for them to learn about crypto and that it can be converted to real world fiat funds, those funds will come from somewhere, so I was thinking about this invite button as a promotional way to bring more people to steemit and the crypto world. @gold84

This guy deserves unlimited upvotes.

@bamsimmons thanks for stopping by and for the comment. @gold84

I agree! An invite button would help facilitate :D

@camendes70 exactly, this is the idea, to help promote steemit easier for users in the platform, and to bring more smart people that will contribute to steemit growth. Thanks for your comment. @gold84

Great idea! All these little changes will add up to a world beating social media platform.

@magickal right, this may seem simple details, but sometimes those small details can make the butterfly effect at some point combined with other improvements. Thanks for the comment. @gold84

This idea is excellent.

@dragonite thanks for commenting. Hope the idea helps for steemit in one way or another. @gold84

What's the point of limiting invites, when you could just email someone a link to Steemit?

@smitop thanks for your comment. Limiting the amount of invites is because we need to bring people to steemit that really want to be involved on it first, so we can make it grow faster. And at the same time, if we are giving some steem for them when signing up, so they learn about crypto and that it can be converted to real world fiat funds, those funds will come from somewhere. @gold84

Thank you for Using #promo-steem tag, Promote steemit by inviting your friends and your family!

This post has received a 3.68 % upvote from @booster thanks to: @gold84.

Great idea for the invite button however I dont see the point of limiting invites. I understand that your looking for quality newbies that will actually create content and give to the community but even so thats up to the individual when they join. Users shouldn't be stopped from inviting more people because someone they did invite cant be bothered to really become part of the community.
