Easy Guitar for Begginers : Intro

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Hello Fellow Steemiers! Welcome to this new series ( i hope) of posts in which i 'll try to teach you how to play guitar from the VERY beginning.

Today i want to teach you about guitar basics , so you can have a good time starting to play your guitar.

Django Reinhardt , my favorite guitarrist of all time.

I started to learn guitar as a hobby about 6 years ago , and even though i went to a few classes i prefer to simply let my mind and my ear do the job.

There's some things you need to know about playing guitar , and we need to get out of the way :

  • The guitar is a really complex instrument , if you ask me it's one of the most complex but also one of the most satisfying ones to master.
  • If you're learning guitar just for the ''looks'' or just because you want to impress someone and you do not take it seriously , it's possible you won't be good at it.
  • Most guitar players ( except prodigies ) spend hours and hours playing and practicing. Behind each note , you'll find hours of hard work. Don't give up , stay focused on what you want to learn and persist. I know it's cliché but as the old saying goes , practice makes perfect .
  • One of the most important parts of playing guitar is what i like to call ''base''. What is it? It's all the techniques and ways you play guitar that you acquire in the first few months. Chances are , if you don't have a solid base , it will become more difficult to correct once you're more advanced. So try to get used to playing chords and notes correctly , even if it seems like a drag. It really pays off!

Me trying to learn how to play a B chord.

So now that we got all that out of the way , we need to start asking questions :

What kind of guitar do i wanna end up playing?

Guitars are vastly different , even though if you can play one type of guitar you can probably play all of them. You need to ask yourself '' Do i wanna play ballads?'' ''Heavy metal?'' ''Blues , jazz''? Once you got that in mind , you can choose where to start , with an electric gutiar , an acoustic one , whatever you feel comfortable playing.

How much time am i gonna practice?

Like i said , practice makes perfect. You don't need to play 7 hours a day to be a good guitarrist , but you need to stay focused and practice at least everyday. Don't think about it as a chore , think about it as if you're planting a seed and watering it so you can watch it grow intro a beautiful ...um... guitar flower?

Do i need a good guitar or any guitar will do?

This one is really up to you. I started playing on a classical guitar ( in my country it's called guitarra criolla) which wasn't really expensive , but as time goes by  ,you start to feel the difference between a good guitar and a cheap one. If you ask me , i would tell you that any guitar will do for your first months , but when you get better you'll need to get a better one.

Is reality subjective or is it just an objective construct inside the colective unconscious?

Woah , getting out of topic there , champ. I just strum tiny nylon strings on a wooden thingy.

Anyway , once you got all this out of the way , you can start learning about chords , scales , progressions , and simple songs. Don't worry , i'll try to be clear and help you practice each step along the way.

Alrighty , that will be all for now , don't forget to vote and re-steem! I want your opinions and i value your support! Peace and i will see you on the next post!

Me , learning to play 6 years ago . Time surely flies.

Gracias Exe! Te gustó el post? tenes alguna duda o alguna sugerencia?

This is so cool! I feel like so many people want to learn but don't know where to start. I've played guitar for a few years, learned mostly rock. I wish I knew some jazz guitar tho. And yes, the dreaded B chord lol. Really nice post!

Thanks Danielle! I plan on going onto the chords , scales and some tips and tricks. Also , loved your Brooklyn pics.

Cool can't wait to see the rest. Thanks!
