RE: My Views on 50/50 Split Curation/Author Rewards
If you're not doing it for 25%, you won't do it for 50%.
I have ~1700 Steem Power and here's my estimated curation rewards last week: 1.536 STEEM POWER
I honestly wouldn't care much if I earned 0.5-1 Steem more per week, and I doubt others would care about it.
50/50 is a perfect option for vote sellers and circle jerkers. Large stakeholders would also be able to earn more than ever before, so it's literally a superb option for the rich to get even richer...
"50/50 will result in more votes coming your way"
Or whatever they've said. Sure, it might increase the amount of votes authors would get, but there's no guarantees for that. The only guaranteed thing, is the fact that curators would earn more.
I can't see a single positive thing with 50/50... But on the other hand, I'm not greedy, selfish or a large stakeholder.
Yup, it seems like a con job being pushed onto the platform (even if it's not intentional). Many want to try to get more investors by enticing them to invest, selling it as an opportunity to make money by doing a few clicks, or worse, sell votes and make 2x as much, 100% more profit than they are now. I think the "positives" that are sold are misconceptions compared to how it will play out. Meanwhile, the majority of the platform won't see much improve in curation rewards, and their author rewards which is their main means of trying to grow in SP, will be cut. The ideas people come up with just to try to get STEEM to go up in price by getting peopel to buy it.
"Vote selling/buying will be great for STEEM. Investors will want to buy STEEM to get great ROI, making the price go up. And people will buy STEEM in order to buy votes. Such a great idea." Right... how's that working out for the greatness of the platform? 50/50 just makes it worse as I see it.
