Another off the cuff idea for Steemit to thrive
Ads... yeah, the traditional method of compensation...
However, let the ad revenue generated by steemit be periodically (partially or fully) distributed to the community proportionally based on steem power/dollars/whatever holdings.
Advertisers must pay for adds in steemit.
Instant capitalization of steemit.
Thoughts?

I think/fear that advertisements will eventually come to Steemit. This is how they will pay their hosting costs. I don't see why any of the ad revenue would be distributed to users.
By the time ads come to Steemit, I hope there will be a wide range of Steem-based websites for me to choose from.
hosting costs...they might be able to cover their private island costs if done right :)
thats why they aught to pay in steem only. them purchasing steem immediately benefits all steem holders
If ads are paid for with steem, they are effectively already distributed through steem prices
