You can get the currency just by participating on here! That's the beauty - get paid for what you have always done for free on sites like Facebook and Reddit.
That's a good point and one of the reasons I have been doing less and less "facebooking". I contribute and most of what I get in return is adds and promoted post. Looking forward to diving deeper into Steem!
