Working to become a whale

Sup Steem punks & Steem princesses!

When you first step onto Steemit you are dazzled!

I can remember seeing the trending page for the first time. The numbers just glare at me. They were drawing me in. Everybody loves money. This goes without being said......but there is a misconception about blogging that people do not really see from an outside view. I shall explain further.

Persistence & Consistency

I have worked really hard to get where I am on Steemit and I have learned a ton on my journey with the platform. To become a blogger is much like any other form of art. It can be compared to being a Youtuber or a musician. In terms of success, it does not come to those who do not work hard. A whale is somebody who has a powerful profile(in the terms of steemit) and can give a large payout to whoever they upvote. These whales on this site worked hard. Your favorite musician or Youtuber put in hours upon hours upon hours into their craft. This never happens overnight, no matter what rumors you hear. These people developed their craft to perfection. You can usually easily see this in content creators by going back on their timeline and seeing how they have evolved. Perfection takes time. Finding a niche takes time. These things do not happen overnight. If you have persistence and consistency you will succeed at anything that you do in life.

Add Value

Writing blog posts may seem like a simple task, and for some it might be.... but this is a form of art and sometimes good art takes time. Skill doesnt fall into the laps of everyone. In order to become a whale on steemit you must provide good quality content at a consistent rate. You must add value to the community. To the world. This is the way to become successful not only on this site, but in life. Bringing others value will always come back around. I am a true believer in karma, and Steemit does it justice.

If you question how you can add value to Steemit, simply ask yourself this question... What do I like to talk about? This blog is an extension of you. It is YOUR blog. If you do not talk about things that are relevant in your own life, you might not have as much content as quickly as if you just let this blog represent you. I came into Steemit with a niche ... mine was music. But I have developed into so much more. This blog is about music, cartoons, life lessons and anything that makes ME happy to talk about. Others will relate to these things that make you happy and they will be given joy... or information...inspiration... or whatever it is you would like to offer your audience.

Keep writing and adding value to the world! I hope to become a whale someday but I enjoy blogging so it wouldn't make a difference if I did or not. I will continue to write! Stay awesome!
