Some may want to buy steem so they can 'power up' and have a bit more weight on the platform. Some may buy because it is a new currency and want to take a chance at getting it before it blows up even bigger. Seems to me there are plenty of good reasons to buy steem.

Posts are getting better and better. Steemit might have the critical mass soon.
