RE: Power of communities

in #steemit4 years ago

Yes, one of the major issues here I was hoping communities would solve. So many people here, but we can seem to find each other or the things that interest us sadly.

Sort:

that's one problem, but the other is that Steemit is represented as platform where you get money for your content, and people are coming on Steemit 'cos they want to earn money, that's why huge majority of users is inactive, they just come by, post something and expect rewards. Steemit should be represented as place where you can post content, without any censorship, use dapps, interact with others, meet people and at the end you can earn some cryptos.
A few days ago I visited profiles of 'new and undiscovered ' authors I was submiting to Curie, almost all of them are inactive, why?
There is just no enough interaction between users, no one wants to see bot and steemitboard comments

Absolutely agree, in fact I think the idea that this place is just for people to come and make money makes it very anti social actually.

The engagement is minimal and most are just posting to post, as they don’t get any engagement.. and then they leave as they don’t see the point.

It’s sad to come across stuff and see no comments whatsoever... as this place has not becoming about sharing, consuming content, discussing and building a community that way.. it’s become “post to get your daily upvote and chat on discord”
