Pain Points of SteemItsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #steemit7 years ago

As we all know Steem is one and only tool where you can earn for the your content. But how many you think that this can be improved? As a community member and a product designer I want to know what are the pain points are there while using the SteemIt.

It can anything.. Like Searching a content, sending money to different account, Withdrawing Funds to your account etc.

I am planning to redesign few its features and would like to know the thoughts of all your Steemians to tell me deliver the best user experience. :)

Sort:

Sorting the posts of other users by filtering the posts that they have resteemed to find their own posts clearly

There should be a Suggested For You Tab where the users who look for a specific content can see it in that Tab and also there should be an option to suggest a post to a friend as it will be helpful if suppose I think that my friend will like this post so he can see it in that particular tab.

It would be a really awesome if the authors are able to see the breakdown of their payout before it is out ... like how much sbd and steem power after payout

I'm thinking more about this and will surely comment here as soon as I get a new idea

Great post and a great way to improve Steemit

Upvoted and Followed :)

The future of steemit is the entrepreneur.
With my friend @siavach, we have a project, a shared milestone. We would like to keep our blog and continuing to post personal data but we want also post about our temporary common project.
A solution today is that we work together on posts, and one of us post on his blog and the other one resteam the post. The issue is that it's not fair because we will work together and the one who will post will earn more money than the other. And the one who will post will earn more follower that the other.
Another solution could be to create a shared account. The issue with this is that this new account will be empty and have no visibility because it will have 0 SP and 0 followers. And I will not create 10 accounts if I have 10 projects with 10 Steemians.
What is missing, is something like temporary group like in Facebook. No, It's even more than that. We should have the possibility to create a temporary "company" shared by he and me. This "company" or "group" should have our both followers. We could delegate SP to this group, the part we transfer to this group could be the part that we own in this entity. If I put 60% and him 40%, I will have 60% of the earning money. And the follower that we earn in this group should also be added to our personal account.
This king of thing will surely help newbee and will be a motivation to post and will generate new ideas and new projects.

Alone we are going fast, together we are going far away...

there s already a solution for that
called Beneficiary rewards
On platform or a post you can set up multiple beneficiaries to split the rewards with.
@heimindanger did a nice post and offered a quick solution to manage that on steemwhales.com using SteemJS
https://steemit.com/steemit/@heimindanger/split-the-rewards-of-your-posts-with-other-beneficiaries--only-on-steemwhalescom-

It was proposed in Hardfork 17

Multiple Arbitrary Beneficiaries to Reward Payouts
For any given post there can be a half-dozen different people who have a financial interest in the reward. The include: voters, author, referrers, hosting providers, blogs that embedded blockchain comments, and tool developers. Whatever website or tool that is used to construct a post or comment will have the power to set how rewards from that comment are divided among various parties.
This means that if you post via Busy.org that your post will share some of its rewards with Busy. If you post through the various phone and/or desktop apps then the app developer will be able to claim some of the rewards.

Busy & Steemit need probably to add this feature as well, but it's available in the blockchain ;)

about Facebook Group: you must read the roadmap i posted, on page 9 (community)
(check 2017 roadmap for Steem(it)

I personally think that we need folders to organize and browse our blog posts a little better, they are all in one place at this point and it gets cluttered easily.

welcome on the Steem community and in @busy.org
we have many things in our roadmap and also tons of ideas. It's a nice initiative try to get community ideas
for now i would really see some improvment on the whole user experience including a gamification for the community effect, incentivizing participation in the platform,
a killer messenger system and app
other content type like video, live streaming, gallery system or easy photo nav for photography, product/service (for marketplace),
and a all in one platform is what we want to build with busy.org, allowing any developers to create an app that will be embedded in the busy platform and available for busy users. Just like Facebook Apps does. It will allow endless possibilities and opportunities for developers to create what they think is required in the busy platform and the steem ecosystem, without having to run and market their own domain/project
we also have to consider the incoming hardfork and enhancements like "communities" and more.. (check 2017 roadmap for Steem(it)

You're a talented designer and i'm sure you'll bring a lot of valuable contribution to our ecosystem.
Wish you the best.

Organisation of content is very basic at the moment. We have to troll over lots of low quality posts top find the golden ones. Not sure how to improve this. I like the new Google News interface but not sure how much of its functionality intersects with steemit.

Another issue is the incentives to self-upvote are, in my opinion, skewed. Perhaps it's time to kill self-upvoting?
