"Feed" Page History/View Limited (2 Days? Post Counts?) - Why? A Bug?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

I have been away from my computer for 2 days, but I was curating through my Android smartphone now and then. I had previously gotten a bug on the smartphone where the page loading for the "Feed" page was stuck and didn't load anymore. That was after a few pages.

But, yesterday I got stuck again, and it seems to be around 2 day old posts.

Today, I got back home after getting the staples removed from my shoulder surgery, and I tried to go back in my "Feed" history to view older posts.

But, again, the same as with the smartphone, I was not able to go past 2 day old posts:

I thought maybe it's just a Steemit.com front-end issue. So off to busy.org I went to try to load older posts.

Alas, the same issue persisted:

I used Chrome and Firefox to test this out. I did it 3 times on Chrome and once from Firefox from my desktop (in addition to Chrome on the Android smartphone from yesterday).

  • Is this intentional whereby both front-ends limit the history of our "Feed" page?
  • Is it part of a built-in function on the back-end used to query the blockchain?
  • Is it a bug on the front-end or back-end?

I view this as a bug, or a mistake if it isn't...

How can I find the posts from days ago if I was busy? I won't be able to find content from people I follow, read it or upvote it.

Can anyone else confirm this is happening to them?
Or is this just some bad luck on my end... :P

*EDIT*: I just thought it might be related to a post # limit. After two days, I might have way too many posts showing and the page view loading bugs out? Or is there post count limit?

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

What i notice is that if you have an old page loaded with the feed, and then refresh, it will not load all of the newer posts, it will only load like 20, and everything in between isn't shown.

The problem you are seeing may not be an age thing, but a number of posts thing

That's what I thought of when I went to the store after I wrote the post... maybe I have too many posts... but still that is a poor limit to impose and prevents me from accessing a history of posts on my feed :/

I am behind it! You caught me....

:)

Another thing I noticed is that Ican't go very far back in my wallet history anymore. I used to be able to go all the way back to the beginning and now it is like a maximum of 30 days. Before that it only let me go back about 15 or 16 days.

These limits suck. We can't access history anymore... Dead ends are a poor design feature... I made a post last year about my blog page having the same issue. I can't go to the beginning of my first posts. Down the black hole that is steem it seems... :/

all these days the feed page worked very well .. try to download steemplus this extension is very good .. maybe it will help you when you have this problem .. I think it was your day of bad luck ..

Ok, thanks, I'll look into that maybe... ;)

I just checked this out for myself but looks like I am able to go beyond 2 days.

I might be the amount of posts I have from the people I follow... I don't know. Thanks for checking.

I honestly do not know. It may have gotten jammed in some way. I dud not know about your shoulder. I hope you are healing and feeling better. Blessings @krnel

All good on my side man. Must just be you 🤣🤣

Thanks ;)

A really strange thing that happens is the inability to pass the old job hoping to solve the problem
Nice post you are a wonderful person

This may be due to low memory on your phone, not sure, but you may want to try to clean it up (restore to factory settings) and see how this goes. Quite a bit of hassle though so maybe first just try to reboot.

I can view as usual more than 2 days both with android or desktop.
