Will Steemit ever release private messaging and sub-forums?

I just made an account on Steemit today and I really enjoy the concept. I think it is a very revolutionary idea that could work out very well in the long run. But, I am also curious as to what new content the Steemit team is up to. Will they be creating sub-forums that are more easily accessible and will there be private messaging such as facebook messenger?

    Theres alot of new things coming to steem in the future i do know thou. They just hired multiple new developers to help out on the project.
