RE: STEEMIT HARD FORK: 11 days on from the recent Hard Fork and thing's appear to have settled back to normal.
Things are settling down, I just wish they'd bring back 24 hour payouts, I really liked that system, the 7 day payouts seem like a total step backwards, steem has now actually managed to become worse than banks in that area. Does anyone want to organise a small protest against this? I think I actually want to complain because I really liked how it was before.
What's the point in even having cryptocurrency if devs are just going to arbitrarily enforce a waiting period for you to get your own money?
The 24hr rewards structure was totally unsustainable. As the platform grows the payment period will have to extended. With 140k accounts and 5k active users 24hrs is ok but when we get to 140m accounts and 5m active users I doubt there will be anything less than 30 days. This would get my vote. Hell i would even wait 90 days if there was a billion users and 100m active users..!! Stephen
I really hope it works out, I suspect though that in order for it to be profitable especially for noobs the price or payouts will have to go up, hopefully that will happen naturally if the userbase keeps growing.
That's an idea worth exploring: letting each and everyone decide about the payout period.
I see your point, but the seven day payout period works well for some applications. It is really nice to still be able to vote for a cool article I discover three or four days after it's been published. I think in the end we'll all adapt just fine.
