RE: You should all be proud of what you've accomplished! I have 'LEET followers! :)
Neat, thanks! One of my accomplishments in language was learning Brazilian Portuguese to the point where I could make humor in the language. That was really neat. I love seeing reflections of insights in other languages, and even more, there are sometimes concepts expressed in a single word for which we have no equivalent, like "saudade" which is similar to "homesickness" but means a lot more.
Or like the Eskimos, who have a variety of single words for different types of snow -- because walking on the wrong kind can be life-risking, so important concepts get their own words!
Absolutely true, and i love learning foreign language, i started learning turkish coz i had a turkish gf, i recommend pimsleur it's a form of audio lessons 50 pieces each one lasts for 30min very helpful and amusing, looking forward to see u r next post.
Settemi d badoooo lol😂
Yes, I love the Pimsleur method, the varied repetition definitely helps with retention!
I've used their Brazilian Portuguese first, and later, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, and I think a few others, to varying degrees. Was married to a Brazilian which helped me become fluent in that -- never achieved fluency in the others, but what's neat is the Russian has similar sounds as Portuguese (rolling the R, etc) -- so much so that a Russian-speaking coworker years ago told me she had gone to a party, where everyone was speaking English, and a Brazilian asked her where in Brazil she was from! :)
Wow impressive language resumes, i like expressive and talkative people also, coz I'm one of them lol, perhaps I can chat on discord, u can add me at @racemlaadhar.
Cheers 😁😁😁
Thanks! I also took some French in high school, but forgot most of it. However -- it did help prepare me for learning the "romance languages'" and their lack of "it", as in all objects have a gender.
I think I have been on discord once, or a couple times (I'm rather forgetful due to recovering from multiple concussions).
I like being able to look back at what I (and others) have written, as a result, and thus the instant-message nature of discord is less appealing to me. Thanks though, I'm not ruling it out completely! :)
