Feeling like a loser? {5-minute Read}
Let’s face it, we will all experience failure at some time in our lives. If you are trying something new or trying to make it happen, you will more than likely experience failure. Perhaps you feel like a failure because like a hamster, you have been running the wheel of life with no defined purpose, vision or clarity or you haven’t been trying anything new.
But, what do you do when the feeling becomes a lifestyle that you have allowed yourself to go into the deep dark place where it feels like the walls are always closing in?
- Practice Positive Self Talk – I truly believe that it all comes from within. If we can’t hear ourselves say it, we will probably never hear someone else say it. So, get in the habit of telling yourself that it is going to get better. Then tell yourself that you are going to work towards making it better; because words without action is pointless.
- Have a friend/partner or confidant on speed dial – even with all the technological advancements, emotional connectivity remains a core part of being human. We need each other--maybe not in the ways that characterized us evolutionarily, but for a need that remains essential for psychological survival. Have someone to share your ideas, inventions, plan, success and failures with, it is an essential ingredient in becoming a winner.
- Go out, sit or walk in public – preferably where there is a lot of action (people walking or talking). Perhaps at the food court in the mall or by a busy park where people are biking or jogging. In addition to nature's calming effect on depression and anxiety, being outdoors provides a budget friendly way of calming the mind and sharpening our focus.
Remember, failure is the key to success but only if you are trying something new. Therefore, get off the hamster wheel and start climbing some mountains.

Thanks Bibek, I truly believe when we are feeling down we need to be able to pick ourselves up. It is absolutely pivotal to remain self reliant while serving others.
