Upvote bots: Do they really work?
There is something i don't understand about how these upvote bots work. Most of them promise at best a return of 210% in $vote value. Please check out my calculation and tell me if i am wrong?
If i send 1SBD, i get 2.1$ vote.
Then i deduct 25% curation which leaves 1.58$
out of 1.58, i get half payout in SBD and other half in SP (based on price)
so i get .79SBD + .225SP(.79/3.5 SP price)
.22 SP should be roughly equal to .22 SBD which means that after all this trouble i still barely get my money back 1.01SBD
What am i missing here?
P.S. : I have researched lots of upload bots in the past few days and the results above are the best case scenario. I don't recommend anyone using or not using these bots. This post if for opinion only.
Update from MB: amount sent .1SBD
Total vote value: .22$
-25% curation: .165$
SBD earning: .0825SBD
SP earning: .021SP
Total value: ~0.11SBD
Update from smartMarket: amount sent .3 SBD returned .071 SBD, leaving .229 SBD
Total vote value: .49$
-25% curation: .3675
SBD earning: .18375SBD
SP earning: .0471SP
Total value: ~0.24495SBD
ROI: 1.6%
To be honest I wants to know this too.so I resteem and up vote from two accounts this article!

the important thing is that votes don't even matter for visibility of the article.
but what you can expect is reputation points which you get when you get many votes. it is what you didn't mention.

Personally my last rewards is smaller than I expected
I have tested lots of bots and you see that from my last few posts. Minnow Booster had one of the worst results in my opinion. @smartmarket is the way to go it you want lots of votes because even for .10 SBD you get good returns and 50 to 100 votes. Bigger names are even worse. Some of them had -25% ROI. And i just didnt blindly threw money at them. I was watching closely at bot tracker to see bit and vote value.
really MB is one of the worst? i wanted to invest 20sbd today/tomorrow in it so can you list here what can be better than MB?
BTW. i used bots which promise resteem for low 0.10 or 0.001sbd and i didnt get any 1 vote from it.
i tested with .1SBD few times and their ROI is always negative.
maybe steem power is only reward in MB?i think it is the point of this but never calculated it so much as you.In theory i have more SBD then i had(overall on account and in steeem power too)
I will start getting payout next week so i will know for sure what i am getting back.
Hey @mightypanda, can you elaborate on your calculations because MB is giving you 18% profit in your example, I don't see any problems with that.
It could be that you are cutting off the smaller digits?
In my calculation, they r giving 10% return ((.11-.10) /.1)×100. My number match steem supply calculation
Also my numbers r little more generous. It would be less than 10%
Is @minnowbooster just a club for rich people now? No one else is allowed to be part of it and now the people with money get to keep making more money?
It actually gives me an idea and i will test it and add the results of that to the post.

Just added. It's better this time. but still not worth the trouble in my opinion. Only people running these bots are making money.
they say you should get 18% ROI i asked on chat.
Unless that reflect that in numbers i wont believe it. I messaged @smartmarket in chat and they just ignored it.
and reputation can be builded faster by using your own bots too,(posting bots) last my try is 7 reputation points on 24h.
I joined this forum last week so i don't know the purpose of reputation. Numbers don't support their 18% claim.
You can use my post and ask how its wrong. When i started this experiment i had .01 and after their upvotes i had .23
