Fair well Feoil free family, all in on Steemit.

Feoil free family is going, going, soon to be gone.
So what is feoil free family? and what the hell is feoil?
Firstly feoil is the Irish word for meat, as we are a Vegan family it made sense to use an Irish word. Oh, you pronounce feoil like creole. Now you have learned a new Irish word. I set up Feoilfreefamily.com in January 2016. I set it up as a resource for people who were curious about the Vegan lifestyle. I spent many hours on site design, layout, logos, buying and mapping domains to keep the user experience as smooth as possible. I linked my matching Instagram, twitter and Facebook pages to give a real brand feel to the whole experience. I wanted it to be a handy resource for people with no form of judgement on either side of the fence. Since setting the site up it has over 10,000 views and has been well received.

So if its so great why close it down?
Its all about time. Having a young active family means that my time is a very precious commodity to me. Trying to maintain the site, publish to multiple platforms and now steemit on top I just dont have the time to continue with them all so something has to go. Added to that list is that we are now planning a move, a BIG move, a move to a new life and a new way of living. We are going to move to Spain or a Spanish Island and open our own Vegan tapas bar. You can read about that here and follow along if you like.

SRC And no that's not my library of fantastic recipes.
But what about the content?
Don't worry, I have transferred almost every recipe to the #Steemit platform. Since starting up my steemit blog I have added brand new recipes and pushed the boundary of what people think Vegans eat. Take my Captain Jack's pulled burritos for example. I can show people through my actions on steemit and #dtube that Vegans are not the serotype that they think. They are not all dreds and woven hemp sack clothes wearing folks (not that there is anything wrong with that either, its just not me). I can show my progression to being in the best shape of my life by the time I reach 40! Yep 40, as if that isn't a challenge in itself I am going to put myself out there as an example of what can be achieved when I put my mind to it. You can follow my progression in my Viable Vegan Voyage series!

Why Steemit? why not facebook and you tube?
I have great faith in this platform. I have far more support here than I had going solo with the site. I have applied and been accepted to #thealliance too which is totally awesome. The sense of community on Steemit is simply staggering. I am an active member of #vegansofsteemit and to have a great support structure here is just fantastic! I am really looking forward to expanding my Steemit family. Who knows maybe I might even go forward as a #witness I have the rig setup already! I could in theory get up and running fairly quickly. More research will be required into that for sure! Having come from facebook where trolls seem to roam in packs Steemit is a refreshing change. In my 2 months here I have only seen one. Believe me on facebook within a 2 month window I would have received many direct messages from truly horrible people. People who would say that I was guilty of child abuse for raising my children as Vegans. I would regularly get sent pictures of piles of meat or get messages telling me that they were going to kill all the animals and bathe in their blood. I have been called gay, soft, a woman, because I choose to live a compassionate life, all of these "names" mean nothing to me in a derogatory sense.
Real Talk:
It takes real strength to be a Gay man or woman in today's world. Women are equal to men in my eye and men to women, I can not express how glad that the topic of sexual abuse and gender discrimination is in the forefront of our world. Can we just get real for a sec, without women we men would have nothing, we would not have a confidant who would kill or die for us, we would not have our beautiful families we would not have so many things that many great women have contributed to the world. There really are Some really messed up people out there who seem intent on trying to cause distress to anyone who they can reach. But don't worry about me, I am Irish, we have thicker skin than many, so when I would see these types of messages I simply delete, block and move on. But I don't have to do this on Steemit, well not yet anyway.

You have a great following and community here, I think you are making the right choice. I, for one, look forward to your posts and can always count on them being quality content. I already have a list of recipes that I have to try that I found from you on Steemit!
Ah that's such a nice reply @jenniferferris, thank you. I am glad to hear that you are liking what you see. It really is a great community here. I love it 😊😊
Love it :) Looks like you've gotten yourself a lovely little community of great groups here @moonunit :) I believe in Steemit too and have also chosen to devote my time here opposed to all over the place like your troll friend above ;) Happy to meet you #vegansofsteemit ;)
