The Terror of Kidnapping.
Imagine you are 10 minutes late to work, you stand at your taxi stage for 15 minutes, no taxi is stopping to take you, they are all speeding off leaving behind them a good measure of dust!!!
Abrand new van pulls up infront of you, our comes one young man, the two occupants in the front seat ask: by the way, they are all males, good looking and smartly dressed...ask if you are headed to town so that they give you a ride! Oh Lord! you badly need the ride. No taxis are stopping to take you, because as we all know, the morning hustle for taxis in kampala is real in every part of the city.
What would you do if you were in my shoes? oh by the way, these guys looked good and Smart. There was no sign that they could be kidnappers. I have always taken rides from strangers in such rush hour and i have not had any incidence.
but after all the terrifying stories of kidnappings for ransom in Uganda that have been in the media lately, including the story of that student kidnapped in the old taxi park ! I thought thrice about that enticing offer.
I declined politely but painfully because i was getting soo late. i finally arrived at work thirty minutes late but alive and well, and possibly saved my family the stress of looking for a huge Ransom
It's a good move btw... I support u not to take lifts anymore.
Hold on @nexilly, whether you take lifts or not if it’s your day and you are on someone’s radar there are high chances of getting kiddnaped. So just make smart moves and don’t be out so late in the nights bse iron bar men still patrolling the streets too.
yeah, we all have to be very alert and make smart decision for our own good.
Hi musiime ! This traffic problem is very annoying!
