Following function on home page of esteem/steemit???

Does anybody know when esteem/steemit will enable a function by which when used will list all of the new content from all of the users that you're following? This seems to me by far the greatest thing holding people back from switching from fb to steemit. It's so dumb. You would think this would be the primary function they would've been focused on getting done first. Does it maybe already exist and I'm just missing something? There's so much potential for steemit and I hope to see it be adopted but that is definitely not happening without this function.
