Take a look at this picture. This is a quantity of food which @bigdude purchased to feed his family...
His Steemit posts, promoted by Whaleshares curation, gave him the funds to do this.
Living in Venezuela (which you may or may not know is experiencing an economic crisis) many of the population have struggled financially. The collapse of their economic system has led to hyper inflation. In a few of his posts @bigdude explains the situation. The posts were interesting and offered real figures from someone whose life was affected by this. For example knowing that the minimum wage is now $6 per month and that toothpaste, at 30c, is too expensive for many people is far more insightful than a politically biased TV news report. They were good posts...
And they weren't getting rewarded.
However Steemit is a great equaliser. Everyone earns the same rewards, no matter where in the world they are.
Now look at this picture.
This is food, paid for by our upvotes, going to people in need. Whaleshares Curation, with it's 'seek out and promote' approach helped address the problem of @bigdude's worthy work not getting proper attention.
I'm very proud we've been able to help with this.
If you'd like to help too you could follow @bigdude and consider upvoting his posts.
You could come along and listen to Whaleshares Curation. We're doing hard work to ensure good posts get noticed and rewarded and there are numerous ways to get involved.
I am eternally grateful to @nikflossus for all the support, in my country things are difficult for no one is a secret the economic situation of Venezuela, this leaves many questions on the air without answering and also the doubt that is what you should believe and what not. The food that I was able to buy has been donated to soup kitchens and foundations that help other Venezuelanos to receive a meal, in this POST you can see it: https://steemit.com/steemit/@bigdude/donation-to-the-dining-room-virgen-del-perpetuo-socorro-with-the-support-of-the-steemit-community
There are other partners who are working on different projects to help the Venezuela community, it is a job that takes a long time, but the love we have for making a change in our country is what motivates us every day and fills us with joy huge. I love my country and thanks to all the help of the Steemit community I will continue to achieve it. Thank you very much and God bless you all.
It is so, unfortunately the situation in Venezuela is not easy. One thing that should be corrected is the value of the toothpaste that, he says, costs about 30 cents when it actually costs up to a dollar. Even the value of a kilogram of meat is approximately 2.5 dollars. and if we talk about the corn flour (Pan) that we see in the image, its value is one dollar. So you can see the magnitude of the situation in this country?
It's tragic. I can only hope things change...
I love steemit friends & excellent job @nikflossus
