STEEMIT TRADING CARD PROTOTYPES? - THE MOST INCREDIBLE PACKAGE I'VE EVER OPENED!
This was one crazy package to open!
For those of you who are unaware, @kus-knee decided to have some real steemit trading cards created. @Airmatti was the chosen designer, and now the first ten are going to be released. Since they are working with a printer in the United States, @kus-knee had the prototypes sent to me, and then I'll ship some of them off to him.
Why @papa-pepper? Well, @kus-knee decided to have @papa-pepper be the first trading card. He calls me "steemit's own homegrown superstar" and thought that I would be a great start to the set. (Thanks for that @kus-knee!) Along with some @papa-pepper prototypes, a box of @exyle prototypes came over. I'll ship this case to @kus-knee and he'll get some to @exyle. Once everyone approves of the prints, the first ten trading cards will be released! Here is the video of me opening the box!

THIS IS CRAZY
Again, this was NOT my idea and I did not choose to print trading cards of myself. However, since I was chosen as the first steemian to be featured, I'll tell you how it feels. First off, it is totally insane. To think that some random guy who lives out in the woods would be catapulted to the forefront of our community shows that anyone stands a chance at doing a good job here on steemit. While being "famous" isn't really a goal of mine, I do appreciate the opportunity to share my life and views with others, and model a different lifestyle for others.
Once the first ten are all printed, I plan on getting my hands on a lot of them. Since I ship packages all over the world, I thought that it would be a good idea to include extra things like this in the package along with whatever else I may be shipping. Muck like the STEEM 1 oz Silver Rounds, these are a testimony to what we can accomplish together.
I may even do a giveaway for a few of these prototypes. I'm not sure if we will end up going with this printer, but either way the prototypes are very limited and could be a cool keepsake of our history together here on steemit. I wonder if people would prefer a "mint condition" card or an autographed one, LOL!
I wonder how much traction steemit will gain once these start circulating. If you think about it, a non-steemian would at least be interested in figuring out exactly what steemit is if they encountered some of these! Please keep an eye on @kus-knee, @airmatti, and @exyle as this project continues. It'll be great to see what comes out of this project. Personally, I'm just blessed to be a part of it!

LOL - We might need a little more info than that. Hmmm.... also, that sounds like me back in the day, although I never actually attended a college, I just spent a lot of time drinking at them.
The business model of Topps is double. Digitally, it's a standard "freemium model", where you can get more coins making small purchases via App Store or APK store. $0.99 will give you 25,000 credits, enough for a bunch of packs, or you can spend up to $99.95 on 1,350,000 credits and be Mr. Suitcase :-)
"Off line" however, lies also an interesting spin off: An often despised hobby, the card collecting industry has been lagging since 1990. But this apps have helped to their revival. Several topps physical sets this year carry promo codes to be used in the digital apps, and sometimes there has been promos in the digital apps that have given as prize physical sets from the Topps online store, like posters, uncut sheets or oversized cards. The frontier is getting thinner and thinner everyday.
