    What's up with the huge spikes in "New accounts created" is that because of the "approval" process?

    That approval process hasn't been implemented yet. Won't be active until VELOCITY fork is initiated.

    Sorry, by "approval process" I meant the one where you submit (ask for approval?) your information to get a new steemit account created.

    I used AnonSteem to create my account, I didn't have to wait for anyone or anything. I just created my username, paid my LTC and bam, I had a new steem account. I have no Idea how the other account creations work.

    So are these spikes in new accounts because of a backlog of new accounts that get approved / released all at once or is this some kind of social phenomenon?..... I think I just answered my own question. I'll still take an answer if anyone has one.

    If these numbers are correct and only 0.66% of upvotes are bots then why is there fake outrage about them "destroying the community". This makes @BunnyPuncher being placed on the blacklist and getting downvotes even more suspicious.

    Even though there are fewer bot votes, they take up a huge amount (80%) of the payout pool.

    I ignore the moralizing about the bots. A lot of the people who complain are total hypocrites.

    I don't have a comment on the upvote issue but the stupid ass non relevant canned bot Replies are super annoying. Just say "Thanks for the post" or something simple. Stop trying to fake it. It wastes my time having to filter out all the "noise".

    I think that's the part that is bad for the community. These stupid canned replies that are trying to look "real" do nothing to add value to the community and only waste time and space. A simple "Thanks for the post" would be better for everyone and everything.
