A message to all new Steemians !

welcome to the world of Steemit.

I would like to share some things from my personal Steemit experiences with you.

At first everything will seem a bit daunting to you, but don't give up at the first hurdle!

There's lots of information to get your head around.

One of my own main concerns was wow! where am I going to find stuff to write about?

When I first started with Steemit I tried just sharing YouTube clips that I found interesting, but these only acquired about 2 cents. They really weren't worth the effort of posting.

I gave myself a break from Steemit as I had severe writers block and had no idea what to write about!

Then I started to think about what really interested me. I looked at various subjects that I thought really stood out to me.

After a while and some practice, I managed to create better articles and found that the payments were increasing. You can do that too, just don't give up.

Steempower is important as it gives you a higher curation when you upvote posts.

This can also seem daunting as it can take ages to build up. I made my account in 2016 and at present I am only 144 steempower.

This really isn't a lot but it's steadily increasing. I havnt invested very much at all so most of it is down to my followers and supporters. Which I thank you all for.

I think that if I had not given myself a break and wasn't writing crap posts it would be higher now.

You can also use faucets to steadily build it up bit by bit. But most of it will be awarded by your posts and curation.

Don't give up !

Once you start writing good posts that start rising, you will start being like a kid at Christmas! I find myself watching the value increase right up to the last seconds of the post time lol. Then I look at the reward like "what did it get ? ! ":).

It will take time but be persistent, and never give up !
