Nattat lost her parents in her early years of life in Luau. No one ever thought she would amount to something after losing both parents in the same week. Her father, a local palm wine tapper, had fallen from the tree and broken his ribs, which he did not survive from.

As the only breadwinner of the family, her mother was unable to secure the money needed by the local clinic where he was taken to. They has asked them to provide some huge amount of money which her mother did not gather before he finally gave up and joined his maker.
Jazmine, Nattat’s mother felt so unworthy to have allowed her husband to die over her inability to provide the money needed for his treatment.
Some of the family members she approached cashed in on her situation to remind her of their interest in her since she was married into their family. indeed, Jazmine was a pretty woman.
Some of the men in the village had done everything possible to have her, but she maintained her decency and vowed never to allow her husband to be ridiculed over his poor state of life. So when he was sick, they decided to get back at her and even laughed at her openly as she begged them for money to save her husband’s life.
