STEEM vs emerging decentralized Social media platforms (MUST READ!!!!)
New kids around the block competing against steem
https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveolenski/2017/08/09/will-blockchain-reinvent-social-media/#132c665a3ec1
The author talks about new social coins but not steem which is more than 250Million dollar valuation!!! Do we have a PR problem here?
Nexus social ICO

They have a different approach and is taking some elements of facebook, there will be business as well as personal accounts. They also promise to have friends groups. To me groups will be a killer feature

Synero

https://blog.synereo.com/2017/06/30/wildspark-beta-is-here/ .I got invited and testing it out ,got to say needing "coins" to participate is a put off, #steem wins here I guess
yoyow

http://www.coinbitgold.com/2017/04/you-own-your-own-words-yoyow-chinese-willingness-to-pay-for-digital-content/
YOyow is very similar to steemit tech and uses council similar to witness in steem .They also termed it proof of flow, the approach is how much traffic user is bringing to the system. May be the reward system based on traffic and potential ad revenue generated by a system makes little more sense.. Looks like more less like steemit, even though the stated approach was Q&A like quora .
Leeroy
leeroy.io
I like the concept, its decentralized tweets. I know many companies are working on it.This space sure to be revolutionized
I would love to have following platforms decentralized with payments to its users
- A decentralized Quora
- Decentralized stack exchange
There is lot of momentum in decentralized social media sector and time may be right to revolutionize the space again.
What you guys think?
If you like it upvote and resteem
Thanks for sharing this. Resteemed. More and more competitors are entering the blockchain tech arena. We shall see who wins and who loses during the next consolidation phase.

I really see steemit as a facebook, twitter and reddit killer
Interesting post. I'm going to stick with STEEMit but I will keep an eye for these ones.
resteemed.
Thank you. Keep an eye on leeroy . U have to pay like . 01 cent for every tweet and then i earn it back.. needing to pay for a social network to use is something to think about.will really interesting to see how this evolves.
Nexus and Leeroy look interesting. Not sure about Yoyow though.
Leeroy will most likely take off if it is anything like Twitter. Probably a good investment for broadcasting.
Nexus looks promising due to an anticipated feature-rich platform. We'll see how they handle feeds though.
On the fence about the other two. Thanks for the information, @sanees.
Iam user of both leeroy and synero.. leeroy is a single man company and he is doing an ico next week.. product is ok lot to be improved but the idea is good
I've signed up for both Nexus and Leeroy. Had a couple errors trying to pay to follow users (probably gas limit), but seems legit other than paying for every action. Pretty good for a one-man company.
Nexus is looking good too. Pretty early stage with not many users yet but the UI is nice and the ICO is straightforward. Had an issue finding people at first, then used the search and found people through likes on posts.
I like where this is going though. :)
For leeroy just by 5 or 10 dollar worth of ether and try. It shud last for a lot of tweete .100 tweets for 1cent
I think I bought like $10 worth, but only half the transactions went through. A couple posts and a couple follows.
Will need to keep an eye on those.. You never know when one of them can surpass Steem.
The biggest problem on Steemit is the slow account creation process. Once this is resolved and we are out of beta, we can have a head start over the rest.

Not a facebook or twitter competition but reddit yes. Steemit is just like reddit with payment
Solid blog. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. The popularity of the cryptos is currently determined by the biggest group of uneducated investors in man kind. It's an interesting world we live in. An interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com They researched and analyzed every tradable coin out there from a investment, team, product, transparency perspective. Really interesting.
