This is going to get dtube and maybe steemit shut down. Look what the adult swim site says!

How do violations of copyrights get removed from the block chain without destroying it? Can we stop this before it gets to much attention and big companies start jumping in to sue till their property is removed from the blockchain?

Crazy that the people that use to hassel me for not providing original sources for stuff I would chop up and turn into new art or memes are no where to bee seen.

Idk about you but this is something I could see killing this whole thing and it is bothering me.

Sort:

LOL

Yeah, that's something that really bothers me, too. It's one thing if it's being used under Fair Use, but it's not.

Steemit might be growing, but much of the growth lately is from people coming in from Reddit and Youtube and posting all sorts of shit and plagiarized materials trying to get money with putting forth no effort.

I think that that is very dangerous for Steemit. Despite growing, Steemit is still small enough (and likely will be for a very long time) that this kind of behavior could lead to it being taken away from us.

This kind of behavior is exactly why we can't have nice things.

But we also don't want to draw too much attention overall, because of the recent wave of harsh crackdowns on cryptocurrencies. We don't want the government and courts to form a larger interest in Steemit as a whole as a way to crack down on what is such an important resource and income stream for many people.

Fair use I understand but this crap is wrong.
I just don't understand why everyone isn't talking about this.

Why should I talk about it...

(irony)

not should, just surprised people are talking about it.
seems like a huge deal to me.
:D

Part of it is I think that not as many people know about DTube as it probably seems. Yeah, most of the big guns on Steemit have posted about it already, but feeds change so quickly, it's likely most of those posts were missed.

So probably not a lot of people know about it going on at all.

Another thing is that probably, since these people are spammers, those that have tried to do anything about it may've become targets, and there's a few people on here that have a lot of accounts connected to bots to flag those they don't like or say things they don't like (such as informing them that they're spamming) into oblivion.

So odds are that at least a handful of people have tried to devastating consequences.

But we can try to spread the word, at least. I'll resteem this and probably write something about it myself a bit later.

Thank you for resteeming and ill check out your post and will resteem the post you make if I enjoy it.
:D
