Upvote, Reblog, Like, Share and Subscribe!
These five tools are the royalty of social media. In a fast digital world, standing out and cultivating a following has shown to be crucial to success. But it's not only authors that are happy with the tools of the trade, It's also crucial to the enjoyment of users, since it allows them to pick and match their favourite authors and content in a clear and concise manner.
We have two (and a half) of the five tools
And I think we could use the other three. Right now, we upvote people and we have the ability to subscribe to their feed, which lets us recieve their latest posts in a nice interface. We somewhat have likes, in the way of upvoting a post while using a very small voting weight - but it's not ideal. I think Reblogs and Shares are key, however. We are sorely lacking them and they could make the life of both creators, curators and end users a lot more pleasant and fun.Steemit; ft. @Spookypooky and 50 Cent
Wouldn't it be great to be able to feature posts of other users on your news feed? Right now there's a bit of a bootleg curation list and pick of the day action going on, but it is very far from ideal. I've personally built up a small following of users who like the things I post about, and I'd love to be able to just tell them 'Look, this post, this post is cool - check it out'We could have a system that promotes the propagation of content through word of mouth and follower feeds, taking away power of the top-heavy and cumbersome trending pages. Featured authors could get shared rewards to a far greater degree than the completely skewed 50% of SBD that they earn from current 'gem lists'. The person doing the featuring could get a to be determined amount of payouts for their finding and featuring the content, perhaps slightly higher than the average curation reward, yet lower than the author's reward? Let's say 30% for starters.
