Steemit's Whale and Minnow - Bots or Scam_ Journey so far.

Well, in less than 1 month, I already posted 150+ posts in Steemit. Being amateur to this platform, I didn't got any tutorials, but with little help somehow I managed to pull 60 + follower.
I posted and share some of the best content I had in Steemit page, however still not sure how to attract more upvotes and followers on my posts.

Later, I learned that that spending SBD on whale (Buildawhale/Randowhale) people get good return and also attracts more upvotes as well as follower. I also tried many, and invested all my SBD on whale. If i remember correctly, except 1 instances i did not got any good return. In many instances what I invested I got lessor than that or even nill. Rando is sleeping most of the time... :)

Recently I came across one post where, it clarifies that keeping SBD is good rather than investing it on whales and minnow. Still I am confused and doubtfull about the parameter on which these were decided. Kind of gambling if i keep spending SBD on bots to earn more upvotes accordingly higher $.
Also even if we keep writing and sharing post on Steemit, how does it going to benefits in future. Not sure if keep writing and sharing help me in getting good follower. People tend to see whatever come in first (FIFR-First In First Read), even I noticed 90% of votes that i received on any of the post is within 1-2 min of posting the content. So i belive after that my post get stale and no one is bother to even look

No doubts the platform is good for sharing and knowing many things. But something needs to be done on older post, instead those hard works get completely ignored, they must be valued with weekly/monthly contest. There are 100 or 1000 of posts coming in on daily basis, and mere ignoring the bulk just because they didnt get more upvotes is injustice to the hard work.

Request to Steemit team, please do take care of the older stuff. Also per my knowledge, bots and minnow are just the bets on gambling your sbd. Some gets more and some none.

thanks
@steemflow.

Good observation!

I observed the same thing. After 5 to 10 minutes your post became old and is going to the bottom of the list.

I also observed very good articles who don't get any single upvote, while some "random photos", with no real quality, get several upvotes.

If you have friends between the followers then probably you will be able to get more upvotes. If not, then you must continue to post good quality content and step by step, the "heavy" followers will come and upvote you.

Becoming notorious is a time consuming activity! :)

Agree, I never saw anyone upvoting my post after 4-5 hrs of posting. Steemit need to take certain action on such older posts, Else the curiosity and excitement among the members get on the verge of extinction.
Step by step earning 0.001 or 0.002 because of lack of follower make you less interested and gradually it will end. Also the bots and whales and minnows also seems to make partiality between less follower and high follower, i understand these are mere gambling.
Only alternative is to keep writing and keep waiting for the day when you post get highly rated by somone. :)...patience game!

I think exactly the same way you do, it's a patience game, we r minnows right now, minnows in sea with limited availability of food, so make urself survive unless u grow bigger.
Thnx for this amazing post, 👌 you are voice of minnows 😊

The issue... who will feed minnows to grow? even the whales ditches on sendng SBD giving less return....how the minnow in steemit pond gonna survive.

I have wondered about this divide and feel it seems a little like the rich feeding the rich (whales upvoting whales), whilst the poor feed the rich in a vain hope that they will get some sort of profitable return.

The amount of people upvoting whale posts as soon as they come out is laughable. Like flies around..... honey.

I try to stay on the same path and vote for content that like and look for new folk to follow. My home feed hels me keep up with them as well, showing me all of their latest postings. The problem is that there are a few ways to exploit this and I think that bots are one of them.

I guess that we will have to wait and see, but in the meantime, I'm goint to keep poking this wound, from time to time, as I feel there's something majorly amiss, here.

I have mentioned in another comment that there should be some incentive for whales to upvote minnows, such as a reward if the minnow grows to a certain reputation.

Thanks for the post @steemflow. We are very much on the same page with this, Sir :)
