Community announcement from @steepshot teamsteemCreated with Sketch.

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Today we would like to announce several items in our development.

Web browser version

We slightly shifted the plans for its release, because we feel like it is necessary to focus on developing a mobile application for iOS and improve what’s currently released for Android.

This is what the web browser version will look like, now it is under development.

Mobile application

The iOS test version is close to the App Store publishing.

In a week our team is going to participate in the Fintech Hackathon Minsk 2017. Together we are going to implement some new features and finalize the test application for two platforms (iOS and Android).

The event starts on April 21. We will further place a report about our participation.

Community

We think that now is the time to become more open and have already created a special group in Steemit.chat https://steemit.chat/channel/steepshot . We invite everyone. Ask questions and share ideas.

From our side, the question is:

  • What means of communication and messaging apps are preferable to you except Steemit.chat?

Plz share your ideas in comment section:

  • Email
  • Slack
  • Telegram
  • Discord
  • …?

Happy Easter to all Steem Community!

Great work @steepshot. Which you the best in the upcoming hackathon. the more the community can help, the best Steem ecosystem will grow. I think all Steem App should work in synergy to find a way that the community can help each product. I want to share with u www.stockiste.com - Kind of istockphoto. Are u planning of building a marketplace (Buy/Sell) for photographer that will integrate Steem upvote? May be integrate #tipping as @good-karma suggest to support development. How can the community support project development?

Although our primary focus is to build a social app for sharing visual experience, we're also doing a research towards building a marketplace on top of that. Steem blockchain combined with a few other top notch technologies that we're currently investigating is able to provide everyone with the ability to mathematically prove that you're the owner of the taken photo and you're able to sell it for Steem to whoever you wish.

Wow ability to take a pic on the go and monetize it straight away sounds like a really powerful combination! A market is a brilliant idea I wish you all the best with this and looking forward to it!

Regarding the project development, the best support for us will be if the community is just using our app and sharing it with other people :) This will help us identify bugs, determine which features are more useful for community and give us predictable benefits that we can schedule for further product development.

How to generate the posting key in creating an account? How many characters are required? Is it numeric or alphanum?

Please, let us know if this FAQ is helpful.

Great progress, keep it up guys!

I have been meaning to ask this earlier, but forgot... Steepshot is not opensource yet, right?!

How are you guys handling signing the transactions, is it locally or sending keys through API to server to handle transaction signing?

Great questions!

The code of the client that our app is using is already open and we are going to gradually open source most parts of the project closer to our beta releases.

Transaction signing is being handled by our servers for now, mostly because we use Xamarin and weren't able to find a good out of the box alternative to Piston or Steem-js written in C#. However, that doesn't seem like a long term solution to us, and we're going to add the transaction signing to the client side in the next releases.

We've just started to work on a simple version of a transaction signing library in C#, that our mobile clients could use, and will open source the lib as soon as it signs transactions.

Great to know that you guys writing C# library for wrapping local transaction signing which should solve security issues. Quick search showed number of open source libraries are available that have figured out ECC, hope you find them helpful.

Looking forward to check C# library and use it ;)

What a slick design you have created, it is the very first time I see it and it is awesome! Thanks for sharing the good news with us all, namaste :)

As a photographer, this app is a dream come true for me! Keep up the hard work, can't wait for the app!

Would give more upvotes if I could.

This is great, I look forward to using the mobile app! Upvoted and resteemed.

As always, you're welcome to give us at Steemit Inc a shout if you think we'd be useful.

It would be really good if there is some way to link it with Steemit, for example linking Steepshot with the #steemitphotochallenge, in addition to creating publicity, there are incredible photos in this community. Good luck and great idea, I have started to follow to keep abreast of progress.

By default, anything posted on Steepshot shows up on Steemit, they are the same blockchain.
I believe Steepshot is using tags to filter the content they display to only the relevant photo content created in their app, but I'd think it would be quite possible to enable crossposting images from Steemit to Steepshot. It may be as easy as adding a specific tag, or the Steemit team could add a share button or checkbox to the posting UI. I'm happy to see Zurvanic is already reaching out to the Steepshot team.

Excellent work - Keep it up

Simple clean design i like it.

this is one of most amazing projects here i wait for!
