#Promo-Steem: Establishing the size of the #Steemit Community

Approximately 60,000 people in the #Steemit Community

Recently, I shared with you a Blog and talked about a Project that I am hoping to launch that will blow your mind.

However, before I share with you the Project, I wanted to put out a few Blogs to gauge a few basic fundamentals.

The first one is that I wanted to try and establish the size of the active #Steemit Community.

My question is therefore....

Is it safe to say that the Steemit Community is approximately 60,000 people?"

Just to be clear, when I say "Active Community", I specifically mean people, not bots, that actively interact with the #Steem Blockchain by means of: Blogging, Voting, Posting, Commenting, Transfering Funds, Power Up / Down and SBD conversions etc, as well as people talking about the #Steemit Community and the #Steem Blockchain across and on all other Social Media Networks.

So to recap, the question is simply... "Is it safe to say that the #Steemit Community is approximately 60,000 people?"

Feel free to leave below comments as to whether you believe it is higher or lower than 60,000.

Thanks for reading.

@stephenkendal That number seems to be the one that is most commonly referenced for active users. There are supposedly 1 million accounts but obviously that is not quite the same for human active users on Steemit. For a 2 1/2 year project, I say that is quite excellent but now with the distraction of so many other altcoins and projects attempting to mimic Steemit, it could be a challenge to grow more active users. I hope that I am wrong, and Steemit becomes the de facto blog for all things crypto then we eventually could see millions of daily active users, and not just bots.

I do feel you are in the right Ball Park as the number of active users according to me is around 45000 - 70000.

I have not done any analysis but just yesterday I made a post about Why My Steemit Feed is showing less Posts. The reason might be because of these inactive accounts. I follow only 232 People on Steemit but my Feed used to be jam packed with Posts from other people's but now those are a bit scarce.

So I believe that there are a lot of Inactive accounts on Steemit and one reason for that might be because of this Bear Market.

I think this is a very fair comment. Just for the record, the approximately 60,000 I tabled in the blog was a conservative estimate and I feel the actually number is less. Stephen

There are many more reasons for this decline too. I have been thinking about making a post about this.

For example I am from India and since the RBI Crackdown against Cryptos I have seen several Indians just Powering down and taking their Money and getting out of Steemit.

Then again some people think since the market is bearish it would be a waste of Time for them to make a Post on Steemit as they will get less payouts. Instead that is the exact opposite, as when the market is down you can accumulate more Steempower from your Posts.

yah it’s safe to say

In my 2 cents opinion may be it's a little bit more but I am not damn sure about how much more. So, 60 K is the safe limit. Although we have more than million of user it's indeed sad thing that round about 6% are active user. so along with #steemtalent campaign and a #promo-steem or wake up call is required to awake the people who are passive in this amazing community. I think right sizing is the key point for SWOT analysis. You are doing job really well. @stephenkendal Proud of you. Keep it up and all the best Stephen

I think right sizing is the key point for SWOT analysis.

Nailed it . Over the years I have done countless SWOT Analysis mainly on big Corporations. Excluding the obvious strengths and opportunities of #Steemit, I for one are more interested in the weaknesses and opportunities. Mainly the Opportunities..!! Stephen

Obviously more than 60000 peoples are connecting with steemit community. Day by day peoples are very conscious about cryptocurrency and gradually people know more about steemit community and join here. I just support your steem talent program. We need more talent to join more people here. Love steemit and support @stephenkendal.

Well for me i think the collection or the number of users not including the bots, should be roughly 65,000. But all the same the community is moving forward, i must appreciate you too, and everyone who has contributed their part to invite or bring people here... @stephenkendal nice work...

Happy sunday!!!

I agree it could be slightly higher than 60,000 but not up to 100,000
Unfortunately bots and non active users are in dominance on Steemit in terms of population
More work still needs to be done

Yes that is true. Because most of the accounts are ghost account, most of the followers are ghost follower. Hey dont worry we will make it a big community over time. Technology adoption and evolution takes time and we all are lucky that we enrolled ourselves at an early stage but now the responsibilities lies with us t make it forward and this is the real time to work very very hard.

Thank you sir.

I think it's actually lower than that from figures I've seen @stephenkendal. @paulag has done some interesting posts about this sort of thing. 😊

It depends on the precise definition you use. If you include people who visit Steemit.com but don't log in (they may not have Steem accounts), then Hypestat which is based on Alexa data suggests it's over 600,000 unique visitors each day. That likely means several million unique monthly users, and may also be an underestimate since some fraction of users must use DTube or Busy etc. as their main interface.

60,000 seems closer to the daily active users who do log in and make transactions, but that includes bots. It's ultimately tough to measure, even when you narrow down your criteria.

Discounting users who don't interact with the blockchain directly (making transactions) makes sense when comparing to other cryptocurrencies, but puts Steem under a tougher measurement system than other social networks, which typically do count users without accounts.

This is exactly the point I am trying to get across. I talking about real people who are actually vested in the Community and chatting / talking / interacting with the #Steem Blockchain. Not those that simply read what the Community is saying or doing..!! Stephen
