Brilliant post, friend. I loved your analysis about how not all competition is a non-zero-sum game, and some "competition" can be friendly and healthy. I also remember listening to Peter Thiel's speeches. I loved his idea to be so unique and differentiated, that you literally don't have completion, and instead you collaborate with others. I see that as a viable approach to the Steemit platform.
