Okay let me put it as simply as I possibly can for you. Lets say you work for someone, that person says under the terms of your employment that you may lose portions of your wages if he finds you discuss or make comments at work that he disagree's with. He finds out you made a comment he doesn't like so his strikes a buck off your hourly wage that day, then he happens to learn that four days ago you also made a comment he doesn't like so he comes back and says I am also going to strike a buck off your wages from four days ago, then he realized a few days later you have repeated your comment or have engaged in other comments he doesn't like and he strikes more money off your hourly wages....just how long do you think you will continue to try and be productive under those circumstances when he can just repeatedly ride your ass?
You work for yourself, you're comparing a salary working for someone with at best working for yourself and generally a hobby or outlet, and trying to say that people shouldn't have a say over removing rewards, only allocating them and because you think somehow you put it simply by arguing that it would not be productive for someone to work under terms where their employer can strike off wages for making unfavorable comments as if that is anything comparable to what voting on rewards is.

Exactly why I don't put forth a genuine effort to write quality material, it only takes one person to get upset about a comment on a unrelated post to come and strike down rewards off unrelated post on my blog that could have taken me hours to write. It ain't worth it, I earned it and they have no right to take it. Period. This place is failing because it's a echo chamber and I am not the only one who has a opinion on that, there are plenty of others...maybe you'd like to go say a few words to them, you can start here:
