I am growing to truly hate Steemit.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it.

This platform exists to give greater power and influence to those who already have it. It is not free. It is not uncensored. It is not a way for the plebs to move up. It's fucking american idol with blogging. Dangling $0.02 carrots in front of our dumb asses to get us to endlessly research, write, create, and give away the fruits of our labor. And while I'm ALL for giving shit away, I am in no way for disingenuous hypocrisy or taking advantage of the less fortunate. Which is the fucking bread and butter of this place.

In short, if you're just starting out with Steem, don't waste your time. This ship has sailed and is sinking fast.

(flash forward 2 months when steem is $10 a piece and my eyes roll out of my head)

What are you talking about?! I've earned nearly $1 SBD through diligent research, compilation, posting, curating, and thoughtful replies. Ahhh, I see, that should be worth more than a dollar eh?

The system is rigged based on when you got in, and how much SP you buy. I see crap posts by high reputations raking in the SBDs...

am new here but dont quite agree... however, everyone has their own opinion ...you may be right in some ways as those on top seems to have a strong grip and the few days am here shows they earn and work together to keep being on top and i read something about minnows support...so i think they also have support for upcoming hardworking members...what do you think?

If you're talking about what I think you are, minnowsupport is one name for many different groups that exist to "help minnows."

While that's a great concept, it unfortunately seems that a lot of the groups that want to actually help are run by minnows and don't have the oomf to get off the ground and get any power. And the ones that do seem to play politics a lot.

It seems that steem, like any currency, once someone has a lot of steem, they are inclined to protect that value or leverage it in their favor. I am being a little cynical, though, because like I said, there are A TON of good people on steemit trying really hard and producing good stuff and getting lots of upvotes, but making NO money because the system isn't broken, it's rigged. It's an elaborate ponzi like all currency seems to be.
