Touch of minor Death

I have noticed that i am, in some cases, diminishing the reward of a post when i upvote it.

Is it an indicator that my voting power is exhausted, or that i am heading towards negative reputation?

Usually, i remove somewhere between 0.3-1.5 $ from the reward-pool when it happens, but most of the time i have small to none effect in the positive direction.

It has managed to make me feel slightly bad about upvoting a post, knowing that i might decrease the value of it even though i add an upvote to the bunch.
